At Dann Orthodontics, braces are not just treatment—more of a comprehensive, proven technique designed to align teeth and enhance function. Since 1965, our practice in Orlando has provided contemporary orthodontic care based on experience, research, and advanced-level clinical education. Under the guidance of Dr. Carl Dann IV, patients are given personalized care with braces technology that is continuously evolving to provide better results, more comfort, and longer-term stability.

Why Use Braces?

Braces have been a tried-and-tested orthodontic treatment for decades and a reason. They work very well to correct most maladies of dental and jaw alignment, such as:

  • Crowded teeth
  • Spaces between the teeth
  • Overbite
  • Underbite
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite
  • Misalignment of the jaw

Although appearance is the desired outcome, braces also correct functional issues such as problems with chewing, jaw pain, and abnormal tooth wear due to malocclusion.

Types of Braces Available

Dann Orthodontics offers different types of advanced braces for other patients. We select each system based on the case's complexity, treatment goals, and personal preference.

  1. Metal Braces

Metal braces remain the most widely applied orthodontic adjustment for moderately to seriously troubled cases. Made of premium stainless steel, these wires and brackets are more comfortable and less obtrusive than ever. They are tightened incrementally with the elapse of time to progressively more accurately transfer teeth.

  1. Clear Ceramic Braces

For a less conspicuous alternative, ceramic braces offer the strength of traditional braces in tooth-colored or clear brackets that are less noticeable than natural teeth. They are especially preferred by teenagers and adults who desire discretion but not at the expense of treatment effectiveness.

  1. Self-Ligating Braces

Self-ligating braces eliminate the need for elastic or metal ties. Instead, they use a unique clip to direct the teeth into position with the archwire. They are more comfortable and even reduce office visits as they require fewer adjustments.

What to Expect During Treatment

Your orthodontic treatment at Dann Orthodontics begins with an in-depth consultation. We analyze your dental health with digital X-rays, pictures, and 3D scanning. Dr. Dann then designs a personalized treatment plan to meet your needs.

When braces are placed, you'll return to the office for periodic check-ups and adjustments every 6 to 8 weeks. During appointments, we'll monitor progress, tighten wires or brackets as needed, and try to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

Treatment length also differs for all, from 12 months for minor repairs to 30 months and beyond for more challenging situations. We aim to have long-term alignment using consistent and dependable techniques.

Technology That Aids Outcome

Dann Orthodontics utilizes new technology that helps us provide superior and more precise care. These technologies help in building and improving brace treatment:

  • iTero Digital Scanning: Our intraoral scanners take quick, precise digital impressions of your teeth, enabling more accurate treatment planning.
  • 3D Imaging: High-resolution digital X-rays provide complete images of tooth and jaw anatomy, allowing us to catch the sneaky beginnings of issues that can be fixed with braces.
  • Predictive Treatment Software: We apply computer treatment modeling to predict improvement and ultimate alignment. This allows for more individualization and less surprise during your treatment.

Braces for All Ages

Orthodontic care isn't only for adolescents. At Dann Orthodontics, we treat children, teenagers, and adults with braces. Having the teeth straightened at a young age can lead to correct jaw development and prevent more severe issues later on. Braces can effectively resolve long-standing alignment problems and improve dental function in adults, even if prior orthodontic care has relapsed.
